Just a quick post to wish everyone a HAPPY EASTER ... those who celebrate that is.

We got home from my Mom's a couple of hours ago. Mowed the lawn and now I'm kicking back with a Carribean Cream Soda since my beloved sugar free grenadine finally got here while I was gone! Hopefully I can get caught up on my LJ tomorrow.

I guess the cooling system is out in our building. I'm sitting here sweating and as I told my boss earlier, "I ain't working that hard." As a matter of fact I don't see me getting much else done this afternoon. Good thing I had a fairly productive morning. We got some bad news yesterday. One of the main things that was keeping me in this section was the fact that we were going to get a 5 mile section of a new 4-lane highway that we are building. Well ya know that meeting I stepped out of yesterday to buy my tickets? Well that was a meeting about that project. And in a matter of minutes we went from a full blow design to the governor wanting this project to be the first "Design/Build" project we ever let. That is so frustrating. It was such an awesome opportunity for our section and now it's gone. All because the governor wants this particular section of road open for traffic by September 2008 .... and of course it takes no genius to figure out that that is election year. I can't wait for them to see how far over budget something like that will come in. Easy come, easy go I guess. It's not like we will be building that many more big projects like that either and other opportunities will arrive. The young engineers are leaving left and right for bigger and better things. It's just sad.

The Chicago Leppard tickets have been obtained. I actually stepped out of a meeting long enough to get them. Shhh ... my boss would be horrified to learn that Def Leppard is more important than his meeting.

We are doomed to sit on the wrong side of the stage this year. *sigh*

I've only got to get tickets for Detroit and then route and hotel planning can begin.

Halford actually made his presence known today at lunch after a few weeks absence. Go figure. He knows there's only 4 more days until we see Dr. Wheeler!

That's about it for today ... I hope it remains this uneventful.

I'm scheduled for another fill for Halford on April 10th. I'm just not losing any weight with this current level because I can eat. LOL I know that was kind of the point of the unfill and I've enjoyed two months of eating things I hadn't been able to for quite awhile, but now it's time to get back to business. I'm just getting 0.1cc added back in so I won't be back where I was when I was having all of the problems. Hopefully that will dull my appetite a bit. If not ... I'll get another in May.

Did I mention that I'm gonna be seeing Leppard this summer? LOL

The Crue Review

Let me just start by saying that this morning I ordered myself a pair of these. It was absolutely the loudest concert I have ever attended. My ears are beyond ringing today. I'm very uncomfortable and hate to think about the hearing loss I sustained last night.

But I digress ....

The show started out with "Shout at the Devil" ... one of my all time favorite Crue songs. Now ... either I've forgotten the lyrics to the song or Vince Neil has. And seeing as I've done way far less drugs than Vince Neil, I'm gonna go with him being clueless. It was horrible. And I was sure that this was gonna be a waste of my 12th row seats. Things did improve however ... here's the set list I nabbed from another site (Hey ... my memory ain't that good ... well better than Vinces' though):

That looks to be about right to me. Obviously it's all the hits ... which worked out good for me because I don't own anything from Crue past the Dr. Feelgood Album. Heck most of my Crue collection is still on vinyl!! I especially enjoyed Live Wire and ... here's the shocker ... Tommy's percussion solo. Now those of you who know me at all know that I abhor percussion solos. Getting Halford only intensified my hatred, because the vibration actually makes him ache a bit. But I gotta say ... Mr. Lee was quite entertaining. He had two stations set up about 4 rows behind us up in the air and it was just a really cool set up. He went back and forth between both platforms and talking to the audience throughout. Once he returned to the stage, he passed around a couple of bottles of Jeigermeister in the audience. I've gotta say that I've never seen that happen before ... too bad it wasn't tequila though.

The show has a circus theme to it ... complete with scary clowns, a midget and three exotic dancers/contortionists. Kudos to those ladies. Aside from being EXTREMELY attractive they all were very talented performers in my opinion. For all you guys out there it might be worth the price of admission just to watch the soft porn going on onstage. LOL This definitely isn't family entertainment.

All in all I enjoyed all of the show ... even the moments that I broke out in laughter because it sounded as if Vince had suddenly inhaled helium! LMAO I still get tickled thinking about it! I wish I would have seen them back in the day .... but that's one band I didn't get around to until now. I don't think the musicianship is what it was ... or what it should be, but it was definitely entertaining. And HUGE KUDOS to Mick Mars ... he's still an awesome guitarist despite the ankylosing spondylitis that he suffers from. I think it's just amazing that he's on stage doing what he does at this point.

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans ....

I just got back from seeing Drew ... my tattoo artist. The good news is: He quoted me an awesome price for my tattoo and agreed to do some touch up work on my other two tattoos.

The bad news is: The weekend of the 18th is his wife's birthday and he's not going to work that weekend! Major suckage.

So ... I am getting the tattoo THIS Saturday. Anyone who wants to come with just let me know and I'll give you all the specifics. I'm really kind of bummed about this, but what can ya do? The important thing is getting the ink.

As for the weekend of the 18th, everything is still on as planned ... not getting inked just means I'll be able to drink on Friday night if I choose to do so. And we'll have more time to do other things than just sit around the tattoo parlor all day. Now ... if anyone else decides they want ink, (hint, hint ratherberidin12) we looked through Adam's (Drew's partner) book and he is an excellent artist too. And he will be working on the 18th. Ahem.

So anyway there you have it ... I'm pretty excited about getting this tat ... but yet disappointed that it didn't quite work out as planned.

Some really awesome news to start the day? Yes? Yes, I think so.

According to my guitar instructor, Travis, his brother, Josh is coming back to the area to live and teach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm a little excited. Josh was my first ... guitar instructor that is ... and Travis says he's giving me back to him. I guess I really am a pain in the ass! LOL

Seriously though, where Josh will be teaching is only about 5 minutes from my house plus I can get my pick of lesson times. No more 8:00 pm lessons!!! Woo Hoo!!! Right now he's only working weekends here in town which doesn't work out lesson-wise for me, but come April he'll be here full time. I can't wait!

It takes so very little to make me happy!
