so, a few days after the very enlightening pre-op info meeting, i now have my surgery date:  february 1, 2010.    wow, that's close!   i have suddenly become fixated on how much it will hurt....i am freaking myself out here a little bit.  can those of you who went through this let me know how bad it was and for how long?   is a week off from work going to be enough?    thanks.

Anybody here ever tried using weight watchers with the band? I'm planning to give it a go. I've finally got decent restriction again, after several months, but it's still easy for me to eat around my band, and the pounds are very slowly creeping back. I feel like I need more structure and think that the two together could be a good combo, and a way of keeping myself on track, especially when my restriction isn't good. I've also found a group of people on lapbandtalk.com who are making it work, but the board is pretty inactive now.

Anybody here currently doing this, or tried it in the past?

Current Mood: curious

Did anyone get this way? Were you just kind of all of a sudden went into freak out mode and started worrying if you were doing things right??

I have been following the DR's notes to a T drinking and drinking all I can tolerate to drink. Haven't had much hunger until yesterday and all of a sudden I am a freaking bottomless pit! I so freaking hungry. SO I follow the rules and eat a little more till the hunger is gone not gorged or stuffed just full.

Then this morning I woke up with my stomach screaming at me and in knots.....That's when the panic sit in....

Did the band slip?
Did I stretch out my pouch? Can you do that on liquids....
You name I have worried about it! That's what I do, I am a worrier by nature!

Just thought I would come here for some support!

Thank you

I am 3 days out post-op still a little sore and feeling well in general, bouts of fatigue here and there. My question is how much liquid is to much??
I am drinking slowly through a straw.....But I am just thirsty not hungry.
My urine output is fine so I know I am not dehydrated I am just worried about drinking to much....lol

But I will ask anyway.
So, hubby and I are getting medical insurance soon through his new job.
We have a choice between some blue shield HMO and PPO'S and Kaiser. All in Southern California.
What plans are most likely to cover lap-band, in your experience?
Thanks!
